| Leading consumer lifestyle electronics company, Oregon Scientific, recognised and respected for their range of Time & Weather products, has today announced its partnership with XYZNetwork’s The Weather Channel, which airs on FOXTEL, AUSTAR and Optus TV.
Taking effect immediately, the sponsorship activity is focussed predominantly on each company’s websites www.weatherchannel.com.au and www.oregonscientific.com.au). First off the rank, Oregon Scientific is providing twelve Home Weather Forecasters – valued at $129 each – (model: BAR182HG) for The Weather Channel to give away to the web audience of their Weather Forum only, as part of the ‘Weather Photos’ section, each month. The best weather photo received in a particular month will be the winner of one of the Home Weather Forecasters.
Both companies will also be providing web links to each other’s websites during the twelve-month sponsorship.
“The synergies between the two companies are obvious – the common denominator naturally being the subject of weather, and the consumer’s interest in this crucial and unchangeable element of life. We look forward to working with The Weather Channel over the next twelve months,” said Colin Pickard, Product Manager Time & Weather for Oregon Scientific.
Oregon Scientific’s weather stations are not just for those serious about weather – they appeal to everyone, from mums planning what clothes to wear to family lunches to dads deciding whether to play golf or host the family BBQ. All models give a 12-24 hour 50km radius weather forecast depicted by simple weather icons.
Other Oregon Scientific models provide indoor and outdoor temperature readings via remote sensors, humidity and barometric pressure readings, weather displays with sound effects, and even talking weather forecasts.
Professional weather stations are also available from Oregon Scientific, which are more suited to those professions that rely on the weather to get their job done such as sailors, farmers, pilots, and event planners.
The Weather Channel’s online forum gives viewers the chance to become part of what goes on air and by posting up favourite weather photos viewers can share the experience with each other.
