Oregon Scientific announces a three-year warranty for their marine products, in particular for their Waterproof handheld marine VHF FM transceiver (model: TM-882) and their Marine base station with digital select calling (DSC) (model: TM-338). The warranty has been extended, as the company is extremely confident in the quality of these products.

The TM882 Waterproof handheld marine VHF transceiver is great for those that are after the portability of a handheld unit. The tiny product (HWD125x52x32 mm) is water resistant to the JIS7 standard (1m for 30 minutes) and includes all marine and international channels. It also features 10 memory channels, distress frequency Channel 16 selection, dual and triple watch, backlit LCD, external Mic/SPK jack and an operation time of up to 7 hours, along with a host of other features.

The TM338 is a DSC unit with superior features. It is water resistant to JIS7, includes phase lock loop controlled circuitry, all marine channels, 10 weather channels, user selectable 25-watt high or 1-watt low power, rotary channel selector, rotary squelch selector, channel scan, normal scan/pre-scan, backlit LCD display with adjustable brightness and dual and triple watch with WX alert and memory extension.
The main unit features external interface: GPS/external speaker, SO239 antenna socket and a built-in speaker. There is also a hand microphone built in and accessories – mounting bracket and power
